Me aged about 13 next to a fibreglass Sherman from A Bridge Too Far!
This was one of a number of vehicles and props used in the film that were kept in the now defunct Lamanva Military Vehicle Museum in Cornwall. This Sherman was used in the Son river crossing scene. The bridge used was not strong enough for tanks, so these were pulled across by hand or mounted on Land Rovers (the method depends on the source...). Sadly, none did the film the greatest service of all by running over Elliot Gould.
Other items included a mock up Horsa glider, a truck from Raiders of The Lost Ark and a Panzer IV made for an episode of The Goodies!
Note I’m wearing the fashion of the day and was not an apprentice lumberjack.
