TANZANIA'S PARLIAMENT APPROVES "LOCALS FIRST" LAW

Tanzania's Parliament has approved a new law aimed at ensuring qualified locals are employed  first before their foreign counterparts.

Firms are required to satisfy authorities that no locals can do the job before any foreigner is employed.

Ruling Party MP, Esther Bulaya was quoted  in a local media as saying it didnot "make sense to see a Chinese driving a commuter bus " in Tanzania.

There are many Chinese nationals in Tanzania doing both skilled and semi-skilled jobs.
